New MD at Borough Market takes up post
Darren Henaghan, the new Managing Director of Borough Market, is taking up his new post today (1st October)
Mr Henaghan joins Borough Market from his current role as Director of Environment for the London Borough of Ealing. He replaces Keith Davis who retired this week after five years at the helm.
Born and raised on a beef farm in Staffordshire, Mr Henaghan has also worked as a trustee of Waste Watch, an environmental charity, and held a series of government advisory roles covering food safety and other regulatory matters.
He said: “Borough Market is a microcosm of what makes me so proud to be part of London. It brings together the best produce from around the world and like London itself, is the very essence of creativity, pride and diversity. I am looking forward to playing my part in its continued growth and success.”
The hugely popular demo kitchen continues at Borough Market with Chef Hayden Groves taking up his residency from 12:30 - 2pm on Thursday ( 6th October) with his theme Autumn Entertaining.
